A Pretty Purple Cocktail
/How to make a beautiful fresh gin cocktail fit for sipping this spring
A gin cocktail for you to try
This classic gin and tonic recipe gets its beautiful hue from Compass Distillery’s Gin Royal. This royal blue spirit is distilled from Nova Scotian wheat with classic and contemporary gin botanicals. More than half of the botanicals used in gin are pollinated by bees, and without them there would be no gin. Just another reason to save the bees! Gin Royal is a tribute to the pollinators whose work allows us to enjoy beautiful spirits like gin.
Slightly sweetened with local honey and royal jelly, it gets its distinct blue hue from an infusion of butterfly pea blossom.
And if you need a reason to drink more gin, $1 from every bottle sold will be donated to the Nova Scotia Beekeepers Association.
To enjoy this pretty purple cocktail, simply fill a glass with ice, and fill the glass 3/4 full with tonic. Slowly add one or two shots of Royal Gin to the top, garnish with a lemon curl, and enjoy the fun colourful effect and a fresh cocktail fit for Spring.
