It's the most wonderful time of the year!

A round-up of my fun, festive articles for the holidays, plus a hit-list of must-see Christmas movies.

The Holiday Parade of Lights is in Halifax tomorrow night. I thought it would be fun to kick off the holiday season with a round up of a few of my published festive articles!

There are so many funny Christmas Music memes. Google it!

I was surprised to hear one of the local radio stations say they will be starting to play Christmas Music 24/7 this weekend. For me, It’s all things festive on the day of the holiday parade. You can bet my iphone alarm is going to sound off to Mariah Carey tomorrow morning. I’m cracking the eggnog and maybe I’ll don the Christmas sweater that’s still out, waiting to be put away with the Christmas decorations (shhh).

Normally I have an arbitrary rule of no Holiday Festivities until December 1 (tomorrow being the exception), but this year I think I am here for it!

Every year I run out of time to watch all the Christmas movies I want to see. It’s hard to fit all the classics in! This year’s hit list, in no particular order:

  • Love Actually

  • Home Alone 1 & 2

  • National Lampoons’ Christmas Vacation

  • The Grinch (original and Jim Carey version and probably the new one from last year because kids)

  • The Polar Express

  •  Elf

  • The Night Before (this is a GREAT movie and not family friendly at. all.)

  • A Muppet Family Christmas

  • Letters to Santa: A Muppets Christmas (has become a tradition for the girls, they love it)

  • Christmas Eve on Sesame Street (for the kids okay?)

Plus some random Hallmark Christmas movies, and Let it Snow, new on Netflix but I read the YA book a few years back and it was fun. I certainly plan to see the new release, Last Christmas, at the movie theatre! Holiday RomCom date night? Yes please!

What am I missing?

*ok so this list turned into all of the holiday movies I enjoy. Which is why I need more time!

I LOVE Christmas music - every last flipping song - so why not enjoy it for just that little bit longer? We’re talking two extra weeks of JOY! Now, let’s not get too crazy, I’m not decorating until December (probably the 1st since it is a Sunday. Isn’t that convenient!). We won’t get our tree until the first or second weekend, so it’s still fresh for the holidays.

So what’s wrong with just a little more holiday spirit? I’m feeling it. I’m excited and giddy just after writing this post. Let the festivities commence!

As long as that little elf on the shelf doesn’t show up early!
